How do you know if yours shocks have had it? My car has done over 100k miles. I guess they get lazy and are more bumpier? - they dont feel bad.
I'm considering getting some second hand low mileage shocks and putting Tein S tech springs on, which leads to me getting second hand shocks.
Now before anyone flames me, i know people recommend against lowering springs on stock shocks due to wear but why else? - something to do with refresh rate?.
I'm just after a lower look really, and the tein only lower by 17m back, 15 front IIRC.

Would it actually worsen my handling or improve?
I dont see why in principle, (I know the S is slightly different) i had a yaris t sport and added 35 mm lowering springs and i felt it rolled less and the handling was a little better.

I had Eibachs on mine and I was quite happy with them.
Not convinced on the half shaft spacer issue - but never really looked into it.
I would probably only do it for looks though, if you want a really good setup then I think you might find that a full set of Bilsteins aren't far off what you would spend on new shocks and lowering springs and fitting.
Remember you will have to get the geo checked so factor that into costs.

If you are concerned about the state of your OEM schocks fitting lowering springs to them is only going to make them worse as they have less travel to do the same work in.
I'd spend some money on Bilsteins!

you really wont believe how much better the car is once you put some decent coilovers on it's just SO much better.
Finished Kiwis the other day.
Went from a twitchy saggy piece of sh1t, to taught and able Sports car.
And this will improve again with the Geo

Get spoon progressive springs, and buy some 2nd hand dampers, If you cant afford coilovers. Spoon springs are designed to work with standard shocks so cant see an issue really.

You can mark where it was before, but only as an interim measure until you get it set by a competent goemetry place.
I thought you had a thread on this a while back AJ? May be wrong.
