So let me get this right. SO3,s its 245,s rear 205,s front. so2,s OEM its 225 rear 205 front. So it looks as though Ive got to bin the so3,s. because I personally think that the car handled better on worn so2,s.

sorry to have to give out the bad news Colin, better safe than sorry though. Like Andy W says there is a lot of support out their for S02 Pole Positions as an all weather performance tyre rather than the S03.

?? Is it possible to obtain the OEM tires via Honda dealers or Bridgestone dealers?? Or are we stuck with guessing on which tire is best for this car?

As I understand it there are 3 tyres, so2s so2 pole position and so3 pole position. Is this correct. Mine came with so2 ( not so2 pp) which I really rate. Is the so2 pp the same sizing as the so2? Has it got a similar design in side wall as the so2 and what about tread pattern. Sorry to be a retard but I want to be sure I am on the right train. I also thought so2s were a more performance dry weather tyre, so2pp were a mixture and s03pp were an update of so2pp.

I can help with some of this. I'm not sure if the OEM S02's that come as standard are a 'Pole Position' or not. They are however specific to the car - different compound and smaller rain channels than a normal S02. The S03's are designed to be an all round tire - they reportedly have more grip in the wet, but less in the dry. They have a very different tread pattern. I'm not sure what difference in tread pattern, if any, between S02 and S02PP's. If you're after the same behaviour as you got from the original tires on the car, then you're after OEM S02's. If you want a bit more round performance with better balance and grip in the wet, then it's a normal S02 etc, but you need to go wider.

Sorry I can't help more - I'd recommend posting in the Wheel/Tire forum. But search first to avoid the flames!

I dont think the so2s supplied with the car are pole position, mine certainly dont say that on them were as the s03s do. I logged on to Xpedia and they quote an so2 jz n3 225/50/r16z aswell as so2 pp and so3 pp. Is this so2 jz the tyre thats supplied with the car, or is everyone saying that the so2 supplied with the car can only be purchased from a Honda dealer?

Check this thread:

Tokyo James in non muppet thread shocker! (S03 tire thread...)

Acording to a post in the thread S02jz is indeed the OEM S2000 tire.

I'm sure you can get it from any tire dealer, not just Honda Dealers.
