TCT removal with TTS Supercharger - query
Afternoon all, I have gone to replace my TCT with the Ballade one and as I expected it was not going to easy. I’ve watched the YouTube vid and it all looked straight forward if not a little bit fiddly, but with the main supercharger mounting plate in situ there is even less space and I can’t get my C clamp on it to help pull it out. The access on the front of the block is also problematic with the supercharger plate in the way. So has anyone out there with the TTS kit replaced their TCT and did you manage it without having to take the supercharger plate off? Any tips would be greatly received 🙂

Good point, I haven't tried since I fitted it (fitted a Ballade TCT before the SC kit). Could you use a trim clip remover (or anything else shaped like a flat blade screwdriver that is soft enough to not damage the block) to level it out. I've never needed a tool to remove it. It's always just pulled out by hand.

I haven't done the TCT but it only takes an hour or so to remove the TTS supercharger plate & supercharger, and it certainly benefits from making sure the bolts are tightened and the belt tensioned correctly from time to time.

To remove the TCT you can use a chisel down the edge to pry it out, it doesn't take much force, it is only being held in by a rubber gasket. It comes out easier when the block is warm.
To install the new TCT you use the bolt in the back of the TCT method. When the oil bolt is removed a bolt can be inserted into the back of the back of the TCT that holds the piston in place for installation.

Cheers Guys , managed to get enough access to put the C Clamp on by removing my engine damper (I need it as I have a PLM header). Wish I tried that yesterday!! All sorted now
