Terrible Noise! (VIDEO) Help needed!
Hi guys!
After a 2.5 hour trip today (including some spirited b-road driving) a horrible squeaking/grinding noise came up a mile from my destination. It is coming from the front left wheel. Applying the brakes don't really change how it sounds. Jerking the wheel about could get rid of it for a few minutes but then it came back again. Now it doesn't go away at all. Sounds only slightly different in reverse.
The left calliper and disc seem to be significantly hotter than the right one so I suspect a seized calliper. What do you guys think?
Front pads and discs were changed 10 months ago.

I also have to drive home in a couple of days so I was wondering if I could temporarily fix it somehow so I can safely drive back.
Thanks

Just listening to the vid...I'd guess either wheel bearing or something stuff in your brakes?
I had a stone stuck in my brakes once on an old car and it sounded horrific.
I'd jack the car up and have a pull at the wheel etc and see if you can feel/see anything untoward.
I see you are saying that the wheel is hotter than other side. That would def say sticky caliper to me. Wonder if its stuck on and that's your brake pad wear marker's making the noise against the disc?

If they are OEM pads, then the likelihood is that it's the pad wear indicators telling you that you need to change the pads. The wear is probably due to a sticky calliper.
New pads will remove the noise and freeing up the calliper will stop the wear. Somewhere like kwik fit might be able to do a quick fix for you.

I can almost guarantee that is the rear pads wear indicators. Swap them out ASAP or risk ruining your disks. Brakes international had rear disks at £25 each and euro car parts had pagid pads at £16.50 a set recently. I know this because that's the noise mine made at the end of a recent Trackday. I replaced the lot the day after, blissfully quiet now as a result.
