True, but VW were probably sponsoring this sound-bite (get Honda to cough up for the CTR next time and he'll probably say exactly the opposite)

When Jezzer decides he likes or dislikes summit, then that it is no matter what. He ain't a car expert, but just someone who likes cars. I watch it for the entertainment, not because I'm trying to decide what car to drive.
I mean to choose a car
I think the Golf GTI is a very nice car. Bit torn between which I prefer with the CTR. The Golf is a more grown up car and a more sensible choice for residuals and day-to-day driving. 0-60 in 6.9 (DSG) and a top speed of 147 mph is hardly significantly slower than a CTR. The CTR has gotta be a bit more fun when driving hard though.
Not sure about all this VAG unreliability. My S2000 is proving far more unreliable (lots of small niggles) than my old S3 which only suffered from one problem - coil packs.
I am looking forward to the new R32 and S3 - could be a good replacement for our 330Ci Convertible which the trouble and strife is finding a little boring.

[QUOTE=Gazzer,Dec 6 2004, 08:53 AM] I thought I was paying for the sound bite. It being the beeb and all.
