Default Is there a uk Lucid equivalent?

Hi
Recently purchased a 55 plate S2000 after coming from a VX220 - loving the car although 2 things are dissapointing the Exhaust note and the stereo. The exhaust will come later so i want to concentrate on the ICE first of all.

I had a quote from a local firm in Somerset for a new head unit,Amp,2 new speakers, cabling and sound deadening for

You can just buy the pre-cut rear panels from Lucid and fit speakers of your own choice. I did this a *long* time ago.

This would cut down on the import tax.

Don't bother with rear speakers - I've been there and done that. Decent door speakers can handle more power from an amp and mean that you don't bugger the soundstage. I suggest a pair of component Alpine speakers, 2 channel Genesis or Alpine amp and a HU of your choice.

Oh, and a Modifry DCI (in my sig).

Mikey - your turn now

It is really easy to cut these panels yourself with a Dremel. I think the new panels are only around

I'm sure the sound quality of yours (and Mikey's) system is superb, just a bit overkill for me, but then I spend so much time listening to music at home in my studio environment, I'm more interested in driving than listening to music when I'm in the S2000, which is just a weekend/fair weather toy for me

Any decent stereo place could sort out mounting the speakers for you for a decent price if you show them a picture of the Lucid panel. Make sure they see how small the hole is behind the rear panels before they choose the speakers!

TBH, in comparison with my home kit (which isn't top-end), it sounds pants As you say, acoustics have a dramatic effect. The tweeter positioning is poor.
