Default are these wheels/tyres right for the car?

picked up my s2000 today, are these sizes right for the car? i've got 18 inch alloys on it, to be honest they're a bit too big for me, i'd prefer stock 17 inch ones if i can get hold of them. anyway:

fronts:215/40ZR18
rears: 225/40ZR18

I think thats the same width you'd have with the 16" wheels. Not sure what rolling radius that profile gives you compared to standard.

The 17's are 215/45/17 for the front, 245/40/17 for the back.

i've been looking for 17 inch alloys, seems to be loads about, but i take it i need to buy ones that have wider backs than fronts? then get tyres for the right offset? the only wheels i've seen seem to be the same size all round

what sizes are best for the ride? 18's are a bit too much of a bumpy ride for me. whats the best for ride/handling?

am i right in thinking the stock 17 inch alloys from an later model will fit my 2000 reg car too?

All the wheels from S2000's across the range will fit.

I had the 04 alloys on mine and they now have my winter tyres on.

It's a sports car the suspension is stiff, and I'd go for 17s, 18s are for looks.

18's look better if cars on a suttle drop (lowering spring kit) like mine

17's slammed on coilovers for handling and looks is the best of both worlds, show and track.

i know that, i've had vx220 previously but on the 18's today i was rattling all over the place, so thinking smaller alloys is the way to go

also, been offered a set of 17 inch oem alloys for £675, is that a good price?
