I was pained by the drop height when the dealer closed the bonnet
Yes it is a bit of a shock isnt it - you do get used to it though - and it is far better to give it a bit of a slam than to not close properly and then push down on the bonnet to get the 2nd latch - it is so easy to bend the Aluminium bonnet. If it only goes onto the safety latch dont be tempted - unlatch, lift up and drop it a little harder

Ian's right, the drop height is preferable to pressing on the bonnet! As Paul says it's a pretty simple adjustment anyway that no-one should be worried about tackling IMO

Having once had a bonnet wrap itself round the windscreen
It is this sort of story that makes me reluctant to adjust the latch - I am sure I have read of intances of this happening to S2000's on the US boards (perhaps not as dramatic, and not, as far as I am aware related to such adjustments, but certainly hoods popping up whilst driving )

With regards to oil , Temple Garage of Harlow advised that Castrol Magnatec is the oil to use , initially the one for basic engines . They use this in all VTEC engines . I should'nt worry to much about the viscosty 10-30 as this is less important and a 10-40 will retain its effectivness over a wider temp range , As is commom with most manufacturers the spec suggested is a minimum requirement not an absolute !

One should drop close all Hoods/Bonnets steel or ali as to push close can easily lead to what is known as "PAW" prints or minute dents from finger tips or palms
