Totaled my S2K within a Month

It is with regret I am writing this, recently bought a Black Honda with black interior with 122k, after only a month ive totaled it.

I know i wont be the 1st or last person to ever do this but im posting on here not looking for sympothy im looking for advice on the next step

Accident:
Took an s bend and some speed and lost the back end, tried to recover but span out of control hit a wall and was air bourne did a 180 and landed on the roof. Words cannot describe how lucky I am, not only that me and my brother were lucky enough to come of with a minor head bump, ultimatly the car saved our lives.

Damage
Car has been classed as a CAT B, so it wont be allowed back on the road again. My insurance has said that I can buy back from £600 which will be deducted from my settlement. If I decide to buy my options are to break it myself or sell it to a car breakers. Im not sure what I should do i dont know what these parts are worth. I do have space, time and and im willing to put up with the effort to break it but i have to weigh up the pros and cons i suppose with hassle etc

Can anyone advise what it will be worth, it still starts and drives! just need to remove whell arches Whats the engine and gearbox worth? the main things?

Any advice is appreciated.

You shouldn't really be posting "What's it worth" threads - please see the rules: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/131...ad-this-first/
However, the high mileage means you won't get much for the engine and gearbox, especially so once people find out it's been upside down.

Take the insurance money (what have they offered you less excess?) and move on.

Aye not worth it. Sounds like you were going way too fast for the conditions and your ability as a driver though I am sure you know this. Take it easy out there, would hate for another death to appear on these or any forums to be fair.

Thanks for your reply
It has definatly taken me down a few pegs. Glad I came off lightly.
Will take time to find another like like without laying out over 5k.

Another car of the dreaded S2000 diesel?

20mph...oil patch I believe!

Glad you guys are both ok, seen some pretty horrific scenes with convertibles and upside down.
Good luck in your hunt for a new one.

Sorry to hear it was such a short lived experience, but what's far more important is that you're both ok.
