Trace the hoses!
I'm going to be putting my S back to standard soon but need a little help regarding the brather hoses.
On the rocker cover, to the left there are 2 hoses. I'd like to know where the one nearest to the throttle body goes.
Lastly, the large air hose that links the filter to the throttle body. There is a metal piece coming out of it on the right. A hose conects to it but where does it go?
Thanks,
Nick.
PS - Photos would be even better if anybody has any?

Spot on!
The first2 are the ones I'm after!
I was really stumped by the hose in the 2nd photo! I didn't have a clue where it went!
What does the air pump do? I see that some people have removed it. Why?
Thanks for your help Rob

the air pump is used to pump warm air into the engine when its cold to reduce emissions when the engien is cold,
most manufacturers use an egr system re-sirculating exhaust gas into the air inlet but honda used a pump for the s2000

You can't easily remove in with an OEM ECU. Mine came out as it's using an AEM EMS
If you want pics of how it all goes together, i'd go on the Lings S2000 parts pages.

Ah so it will throw a CEL.
I wonder how it's plumbed in at the minute with the Rotrex installed???
Anybody know?
I'm assuming it must still be connected as I don't have a CEL.

AEM FIC is a piggyback, AEM 1052 etc is a standalone.
SO if its an AEM FIC its either directly wired in or using a PnP harness, stock ECU will still be used and unlikely been relocated.

It's a FIC I'm using at the minute.
It must be still wired in but the pipes musn't be connected.
Would that make sense? Would the car still run OK like this?

For the rotrex install the pump is still connected and runs so you have no CEL. However the pump suction hose is usually just left open ended in the engine bay rather than connected to the inlet post air filter, just reconnect it.
The discharge from the air pump ends up at the valve you have circled in your other post here...
This valve should only open when the air pump us is on, in order to prevent back flow of exhaust gas at other times. The small black vacuum tank and solenoid valve usually bolted behind the orignal air box are the control system for this valve. These are usually removed to make way for the Rotrex install and as such the valve doesn't actuate as it was originally designed. You will probably find the small vacuum line to the circled valve is tied directly in to your manifold instead. Its a work around but not a good one as the valve opens a lot more.
You really need to have a copy of the Honda Manual to hand if you are putting the car back to standard, all this information is in there.
