Hi,

Just ordered one of these from the US forum - this and he is chucking in a t1r test pipe in for free

They are meant to be one of the best out there, quite rare as far as I know - Has anyone got one of these on here?

I have always favoured the J's, but with manifold power gains being quite minor anyway, I think that is well worth a purchase.

Im basing this on the car's it has been used on and other threads.

I agree, thought I may as well pay a little bit more and get some decent gains throughout the range from which other mods will benefit too in the longer term

Not sure if I should heat wrap this or not - wont look as good but with no heat shield the engine bay is going to get hot!

Well, manifold wrapping is a 2 fold gain. One is to keep the heat in the pipes which helps exhaust gas flow, and the other is to prevent radiating heat in the engine bay.

The downside to wrapping is that it can cause so much thermal cycling and stress, that the pipe cracks. Ive seen it numerous times on all the JDM aftermarket headers.

I wouldn't do it personally.

I would maybe get a heatshield made or modified - or get some reflective heat wrap on the air box.

The OEM heat shield doesnt really stop heat to the engine itself, looks like it only prevents it heating the brake master cylinder etc.
