Trip to the Northeast
Just had a couple of days in Northumberland last weekend. It's an area I've never been to and always looks great on the pics from the NE meets. Took the A698 from Penrith to Haydon Bridge which is a great driving road.
Had a stroll along the beach at Bamburgh (bloody 12degC in August), visited Holy Island and had a walk around Berwick. Stayed in a really nice small hotel just over the border in Scotland at Swinton.
The drive home was good too, taking the A686 to Hawick then the A7 to Carlisle.
Hartside Summit 1900ft
On the beach at Bamburgh
Bamburgh Castle
Crossing the border
Holy Island
River Tweed at Berwick
Hotel in Swinton
Heading home on the A7
Had a look at a sports car meet arranged by the Supra Owners Club

Blimey, it was so cold at Bamburgh Castle even your car turned Nurby Blue
Seriously, I used to live up there. There are some fantastic roads to be found. Never done them in the S though...

Remember some years ago when I'd just got my first S, arriving at Hawick (pr. Hoyk) to find their annual festival about to start and the main road was closed for a parade. No worries, except when the Policeman directing cars the other way round the town got destracted by someone, and flagged me down the main road. No floats yet, but I felt a bit of a dick driving my S passed the crowds who were waving flags, clapping and cheering!
Too true on your car - it is ALWAYS immaculate! Do you have a dirt force-field?

Thanks guys
I do keep my car clean, but I honestly am not a mad polisher. Little and often is the key. The car was washed before I left and again when I got home, but not during the trip. Think the colour helps.

We were in Bamburgh last weekend You should have given me a call.
We got married at Lindisfarne castle last year
Let me know next time you're in the area.
Nice pics
BTW We're doing that Penrith Haydon Bridge road this weekend on the Northern Meet
