turbo or supercharger
hey all, thinking of getting an s2000, white one, anyone has either a supercharged or turbo charged one? is it something to avoid as high compression etc.
as im used to turbo cars, i would like to try a charged NA car, just sold my rx7.

found your way over then
I'm sure I did read about a F/I S on here quite a long time ago. IIRC it was quite a sucsess after but only after ALOT of time and money spent. The fact is that you could probably buy a fairly decent boosted car for the cost of adding this on to an S.
Personaly, I think you should allow yourself time to get to know the car as it is before making a decision to change it sooooo radicaly. It really is quite fine you know.

Try it for a wile then see if you need to but i think its a lot of wonga to upgrade to turbo or s/c but i do fancy the s/c there is a lad in spain with s/c.Good luck have you got an s yet or looking for one?
Arsie now owns the Vehicle-Formerly-Known-As-The-Macamobile - he may be able to assist with any specific queries you have about supercharging.
It's far more common in the US though, so you'll probably be better off posting any questions in S2000 Talk or Under The Hood.
Andrew Doherty is also about to embark on the forced induction route, I think. Turbocharging in his case though IIRC

Hope my name isn't being taken in vain
My advice Jun is, drive the stock S2000 until you get board of it(!!takes a while for the excitement to wear off "a bit"so be prepared to wait).........
Then decide what you want to do, I think a supercharger would be a good move, the only reason I went turbo was because Maca beat me to it with the supercharger & my car is used as Hyper Sports & racing's show car(it will be at the Donny show in April) so it needed to have a big "WOW" factor.
Just so you know whats involved, I've spent near to

hey dazzajl, were you from the honda revolutions bit as well??
yeah i have brought one, but it is an import one as i like white cars, which you cant get over here no on most other cars which look good in that colour, such as z33, rx8 etc.
but i will drive it around for a bit and see, i guess im jus used to high torque car from past cars, but i know s2000 is the best honda alround
so whats the difference on the new ones then?

A large part of the fun of this car is in the immediacy of the throttle response. I wouldn't want to sacrifice that. The F20C is the most advanced NA production engine in the world. Why try to turn it into something else? However good luck if you do go for the turbo. Let us know how it goes and can I have a drive?

Some more hassle to add to the process of finding one.
