Type V parts
No specific reason. But I guess partly because you can get one over here.
And it seems a type S is too many pennies.
As I mentioned I've had some pics of the underside but for one reason or another not managed to secure those.
Dealers seem less interested in providing underside images. A number of them are happy to show ima5of the suspension but whilst they are not useless they are not super helpful either.

Are you somewhat limiting your choice by going for a Type V.
A Type V shares very little with a Type S. You could import a JDM Facelift AP1, that would give you much more choice of cars and less uncertainty re parts, that seemed to be a concern. The Facelift AP1 was the last with the 250 hp F20 motor and is obviously the more modern car.

The newest F20 engine model is 2005 ? I was looking to get the newest vehicle I can really - but 2007 at least. Looking at the ones available, the later F20 models also seem more expensive than a newer AP2/F22
If many parts generally get sourced from Japan anyway is there an reason to have the 2 rather than the 2.2 (Other than an increase redline of course

The JDM F20 ran at higher compression, coupled with higher octane Jap fuel, it was 10hp more than we got. A JDM Facelift AP1 has that attraction to some, aswell as the chassis improvements and 17” wheels. It ran until 24-11-05 when the AP2-100 went into production. DBW throttle came in then too. Strangely there was no VSA until the final S2000 variant, the AP2-110 (Spotted by its 5 spoke wheels) from late 07 onwards.
Any nice S2000 makes strong money, they’re sought after. In your favour is the currency. The Yen has weakened considerably over the last 5 years, making now a good time to import. I looked at importing years ago and it simply wasn’t practical. You’re getting half as many more Yen for your money now. At the end of the day make your budget and buy the best car for your money. The Japanese market got some colours we didn’t get. There can be an attraction to these aswell.

In a strange twist of fate the only rear springs they list as available - are for the type v.
There seems to be different part numbers for stock, type v and type s too - so I guess there are some differences.
The reason I looked for springs of course is because with the amount of speed humps littered around the country these days it will likely need springs and/or shocks sooner or later I expect. (It was pretty tough finding these for my Starion recently - and I dont think any of the cars ive had over the last 15 years - both mine and 'ers have all needed at least a couple of springs - so seems important !)

As mentioned above, the Type V had different suspension parts from the Base model within its respective MY. Every 2 years there were tweaks to suspension, so you are seeing MY differences aswell as variant differences. When you study the parts, there can be quite a few differences, springs, suspension units and ARBs. Springs are all colour coded and can help differentiate them and MY.
At this stage alot of the suspension parts are discontinued. It is possible to pick up some fresh used examples from Japan. I picked up some very clean sets, thought they’d be good to future proof my cars.
