Good write up Rhauri and I would concur with everything you said, they seem a very good tyre. My front grip now makes the car very pointy ... I am still getting used to that and I still can't get the back end out ... not sure if that is a good thing or bad!

All the semi track/road tyres come up a size bigger, there's loads of posts on this all over the place,

You are effectively running a 265. The federals also come up a size bigger than their 'road' tyre counterpart. If you have to have a 255 with as before, you could go down to a 245 in the ado8r, 595 Rsr r888 etc and it would be the same as your old tyre.

(Not the khumos though. They come up even narrower!)
Was in another post but thought I'd pop this here for people.

Just to make sure the 225/255 rsr&nsr will fit the standard 17s on a MY05 without rubbing?
The NS2R's don't rub. I've given the car enough to know even though I haven't driven it a lot yet. It's a shame they're discontinuing the 180 tread wear version but I'm guessing it's due to demand not being high enough.

Great write up on the RSR Rhauri, I'll see if I can give a good solid opinion of the NS2R once I've got the car running reliably.

I was wondering whether to get some AD08Rs to replace my RE002s, but Bridgestone have released the RE003... in Australia.

The AD08 are the wrong speed rating. Save yourself a load of money and get some Bridgestone RE002. They are fab.

I don't know about RE002 but AD08 are f@#king amazing, if you can afford them go with them and have an absolute ball on the track, seriously it is what they are made for, superb tyres if you want maximum grip, and of course you do on a track.

AD08R are good, amazing in fact on the road, but on the track they are far from amazing.

Thanks for your enquiry.

Unfortunately we do not yet have any details on the release of the RE003 in the UK.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Kind regards,

S. Gulliver

Customer service department
The RE003 is listed in the correct sizes for 17" wheels on their Australia site.
I just rang them with the same question. Apparently the RE003 is currently only for the southern hemisphere and there aren't yet any plans to release it elsewhere or otherwise to replace the RE002 in the UK. - No doubt that's the official line, but if someone asks for the RE003 in the UK every few days then hopefully they'll take a hint sooner than later (even if they won't admit it, pre-launch).

Does anyone have experience of running Michelin Pilot Sports on these cars? Even better has anyone had them on this car and found them to better than eagle F1's?

You never used to be able to get front and rear in the correct sizes, though it looks like they are available for 17s these days. Might be worth a try...

(There are a few comments on these - type "Pilot" into the search box for this thread and you'll see them)

I did PM Le Sau about these as I am pretty sure I saw them on his car on sunday but he is yet to get back to me, there was definitely a white one at the ace cafe meet I went to with them on. I used to really like them on front wheel drive cars I have had in the past so thought they might be worth a punt on the S.

Interesting that the Michelins have come up here - I'm considering a set of the Michelin Pilot Sport Cups for my S2000 now I've gone to an 18" wheel, on the basis that I believe they're possibly the best tyre available.
