That price sounds about right to me...

If cost is an issue you have some options:

Don't drive as hard

Don't do track days or drifting

Get another set of wheels with trackday biased tyres - not sure if they're available in the relevant size - e.g. Yoko 048R, Toyo Proxes 888R or similar.

If you regularly take your car on a track then you should expect significantly higher costs in terms of consumables... tyres, brakes etc.

Supply and demand...

I always stuck with the Bridgestone when I had my S2000, although others on here use the Goodyear Eagle F1 and the Toyo Proxes T1-S (or is it R...)

You could do a search... the subject of tyres is very, very common...

I've got Pirelli P6000's that were on it when I bought it, I hate them with a passion! Not too much grip, and no warning that you're about to overstep the mark.

I had them on my previous car when I first bought that, and they were crap then too!

I think I would have budgetted to change them the day I got the car...

Farking hell there are the last tyres i'd put on the S, i had them on mine when i first bought it and even though i liked to rip em they would let go in massive fashion eveywhere in the wet, got plenty of fun but if you dont know how to handle a rwd car can be a little scary
