Tyres questions again

Well, I had a look at my rears (RE050) the other day. I thought I was keeping track of their wear. Found them to be down to the wear bars :eek1: - less than 3mm in some areas. Mind you, never had any scary moments, even in pounding thunder storms. I must really be driving like my granny!

So I ordered two rears from Tirerack in the US. By the time I got them here through the sky box, cost was about TT$5,000 (UKP 382.00). Ouch

The fronts are around 5mm tread depth. Should I be OK with this for a while or should I trey to change them at the same time? They look fine, but maybe they won't match the rear's grip and change the balance a bit?

fronts will be fine for some time yet. They last longer than the rears.

Not if you drive it right, they don't!

Aged tyres on one end & new rubber at the other will do odd things to the handling.

Bets replaced as a set, like Honda say in the book.

Sorry to disagree with Nick. Yes Honda may say to replace all at the same time but with 5mm left on the fronts you should be good for a while, difference in feel will be minimal.

As Lower said the rears do last longer than the fronts, as with any rear drive car!

Other way round. :)

Yeah! Like what he said :drunk:

I need to change my rears to. I'm on RE01's though so don't really have much choice but to replace all four.

Boulders 10-18-2007 10:51 AM

Ouch! Are you going RE01's again?

Boulders 10-18-2007 10:52 AM

Sorry, just re-read your post so I take it you are going RE050's?

GrittyShaker 10-18-2007 10:53 AM

I doubt very much I'll be able to get hold of any will I? I haven't really tried TBH. I was just going to get the Bridgestone recommended replacements. :)
