Have you read the NA/supercharged/turbo thread by Mattie170? Granted it will be some years old now but is extremely informative particularly with on going problems, preventative stuff, he doesnt hold anything back re info and photos etc, definitely worth a read if you haven't already done so. Loads of good contributions from people with similar set ups too.
Though the shear amount of money he ploughed into it may put you off forever

turbo vs sc
I’m keen to go FI and love turbos having run a couple of boosted nissans. I have have sc cars as well, which produced great power but not so much fun factor.
I went to TGM in Fleet for advice as they have built several S2K turbos and sc cars. They did their best to talk me out of Turbo as being undrivable on the road.
However this sounds like poor installation / setup or just personal dislike rather than a good reason.
The biggest drawback for me is the number of people that seem to blow up their engines or rip the kit out again. Again I suspect this is mostly due to getting the installation wrong.
I think there are only two options. Seek advice from those that have been there and done it (as you are), or buy a good finished car and save the hastle of doing it yourself.

Currently 14psi and 380bhp, will be increasing with a new clutch sometime this spring.
There's quite a few of us in the South West if you wanted to come along for a passenger ride/ chat.
and worth talking to AJI tuning, he's quite the fountain of knowledge
