Under seat sub
Morning all,
I have had a search and I can't find a defiant anwser to what amount of space is under the passenger seat and what subwoofer will fit.
I am looking at http://caraudiosecurity.com/swe-1200-active-bass-tube
Has any one got one of these or can anyone supply me with the dimensions please.
Dan

No idea about dimensions and I've never seen any mention of this model before. Your best bet would be to compare dimensions with the other under seat subs people have used.

I bought a cheap little Ripspeed underseat sub many years ago, and it's still working.
It's no longer available, but according to the cached Halfords website/page:
The dimensions of the Ripspeed PSR-135A Subwoofer are :- L28.5cm x W20cm x H5.9cm.
It's "snug".

I spent a long time on this, there isnt really the room and it prevents the seat from moving properly when someone is in it.
I went for a larger live sub and put it in the spare wheel well and then used the under seat location for an amp and put components in the doors - Job done.

It depends what you want it to do. I've got a pioneer under the passenger seat and it does exactly what I wanted it to, which is offload some of the bass from my upgraded speakers to enable a clearer sound overall at higher volumes. And a better bass response at lower volume without having to fiddle with the eq.

This is exactly what i am after, I have alpine components in the doors and just looking for a little more punch so i can reduce the bass in the door speakers and get a richer sound.
whats the spec on your pioneer?

I have Focal components and a cheap Pioneer TS-WX110A sub (£140). I initially thought it was average, but I'm pleasantly surprised by it after a bit of use. It has one resonant frequency in its response that always appears too loud, but I can cope with that, as it doesn't appear in too many of my tunes. Can't expect a perfectly flat response from a cheap fill-in sub. I mainly listen to rock stuff, so I'm not after pumping club-style bass.
