Default Very generous neighbours!

A week ago, I embarked on some gardening. The conifer bushes that border my back garden were getting a bit shaggy, I thought I would offer to do my neighbours side while I was at it. They were happy I had offered.
After I finished cutting their hedge we had a bit of a chin wag, I'm still getting to know them as we've only been living here a year, they told me their plans for their garden and that they were planning to throw away some stuff whilst pointing towards some toolboxes. They had had these toolboxes under a plastic sheet for a while after having their garage part converted into an office leaving no room for the toolboxes, I kindly offered to take them off their hands and they agreed.

The guy used to own an engineering firm when he lived in Australia, these toolboxes have been on a trip!
Anyway, enough Jibba jabba, here's a quick pic.

They are of very high quality made by a company called Huni, based in Spain.

I'm over the moon, I'm thinking about putting some money in a thank you card but my girlfriend thinks it might be awkward, what do you think?

He also left a load of tools in there including a moore and wright micrometer, the contents alone would fetch over £100 on ebay, he said the chests cost £500 per unit!

I need to organise my tools into them so excuse the mess!

Love thy neighbour!

How nice of them!

A thank you card, yes, but don't put money in it, or they might wonder if they've given something valuable away, which could certainly lead to awkwardness in the future.

I'd do a thank you card and bung a small gift to them like a box of chocs or a crate of beer or some wine? Or maybe a nice gift voucher of some sort for a meal out.

This is what Ratman will now become - the neighbourhood tool station!

A bottle of wine or some beers always goes down well

Wow! You have the best neighbours!

I'd be over the moon with something like that, I'd definitely say it's worth a thank you gift in some shape or form.

I'd stick with just a card but gently ask if they knew there were valuable tools inside when you next see them
