If the value of the goods you are bringing back is more than £390 - don't forget Mr HMRC will want his import taxes and then VAT on top. Of course, you may get the items at a massive discount just for being so nice and you may then be able to get the receipt to prove it from the shop..... Mind you, given all the 'celebs' you see wanging on about how much they spent on trips to the US, the customs blokes must be all looking the other way these days.

I picked up a K&N FIPK for about £140 ish all in when I went to the states - then came back and decided I didn't want it so flogged it on ebay for £190 - not bad! Big old thing to bring back though 
(I go to the US every year and take at least 2 empty suitcases with me though to bring back stuff!)
