Bootlid lifting springs.
Decided tonight(foolishly) to change the two springs that lift up/hold the bootlid open, well 45 minutes, lots of swearing and split knuckle I have changed one of the pair, the front one without the rubber sleeve, enough for tonight methinks, but, I have a question for next time someone has their boot open, are their two bump stops for the hinges, ie one on each hinge, I now only see one on the drivers side, have I knocked the one on the passenger side off into the depths of the boot? Ta.
After all the effort there doesn’t seem to be much improvement when the catch is released., maybe I’ll have to go again and change the other one too.

Had a wee look for the escaping stopper(found it) and only one set of spring fitting holes, so, fitted the other HD lifter spring and this has made a difference now, doesn’t make the boot pop up fully but a definate improvement so all in all a success, apart from the sore finger.
