Nice one! I'll probably aim to head up for just before 6 all being well - look out for the bald head, beard and glasses (probably describes a decent proportion of the attendees)!

Sounds kinda like me.

Sorry about that. I got speaking to Martin then went to check out the cars on track. Your car and driving looked good  That black Batmobile looking thing is an absolute weapon!

No need to apologise :-) And I think you might mean Wallace, not me, unless you're talking about the style and grace with which I entered the car park lol! Aye, absolute rocket ship! Wallace's mate Pete was saying he thought it was turbo'd and supercharged, making 1000hp!

Also apologies I didn't get to speak to you hutchi, was obviously just trying to get back on track when you arrived. That "westfield" is ridiculuous! It is indeed over 1000bhp, on low boost I think! I'll have some shakey vids of it flying past me.

S2000 went ok on track, a few issues to look at which I'll update on soon and try to get some vids up.

Yeah that's what I meant... :egads: Saw your car tucked away at the end of the straight, only saw it when I went across the bridge.

A little report on the trackday/night from last week, as mentioned the S2000 ran ok for laps I was able to push it but did have a few issues.... overheating, lots of vibration, iffy brakes and a bit of understeer.

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...e427ac11_b.jpg

I could only do around 4 laps before the oem temperature gauge went up to 4 bars, I had checked what the gauge reads prior to the track day and think this indicates about 110deg C and close to boiling the coolant, so as soon as that happened I made sure to keep an eye on it and had to do plenty of cooling laps. Another issue was that the fan wasn't kicking in back in the pits so I had to drive it to keep it cool. I've since found the fans don't come on with the AC either but if I bridge the fan switch connector they come on - so i think that is just the fan switch itself?

The wheels had been painted just before I bought the car and from previous experience with freshly painted wheels on track I know the paint under the nuts can melt and make the nuts come loose. So when I had a bad vibration early on I thought it was down to that, but even after tightening the nuts it continued so I think and hope it's just un-balanced wheels, as I did have an issue with them when getting the new tyres fitted - you'll see how bad it is in the videos!

Iffy brakes - not surprising with the standard pads, I could actually brake pretty late but the car was moving under braking, I've also managed to properly melt the paint on the wheels and use about half the pads despite not getting that many fast laps in:

Understeer - The NS2R's seemed ok but the car didn't have quite the bite I'd like however again it's probably not surprising given the standard suspension and alignment, it really needs stiffened up and some camber to get the tyres working. The ground clearance with the standard suspension is however great for getting over the kerbs and inspecting the underside of the arches:rofl:

Full arch gap to no arch gap in a few corners...

I was just starting to get a proper feel for the car by the end of the track night, there were a few red flags and with the overheating issue I really couldn't get that many laps in and there was no heroics or sliding... so that's my excuse for being 3 seconds a lap slower than I've been round Knockhill in my relatively standard MK1 MX5! The best time I managed was a 65.66 but there's clearly much more potential there which I'll slowly eek out.

Here's a couple of short and shakey vids of some of my better laps (the best one being in the second vid):

I still managed to chop the batmobile though!....

Next trackday is only a couple of weeks away so plans are to fit a new radiator (and fan switch), new brakes pads and a slight weight reduction (plus get those wheels balanced!).:vtec:

get some 30mm roll bars front and back, will help massively with body roll.
