Default Water in boot, drains clear!

Hi all, I have always made sure the drains from the roof to the wheel arches are clear so was surprised to find my boot with a puddle in it. I have traced the leak and it is running in through the soundproofing material and dripping onto the drivers side shocker top mount. Any ideas? How is the roof sealed to the body? Will I need to remove most of the interior to source the leak?

Any thoughts much appreciated, Nige.

There's a foam strip that is connected to/under the black moulding on the boot, it gets worn by the roof usage I think. Mainly on two corners over the shocks, could be that mate. Need to get the rear of roof out of the way to check though. Floppy did a good DIY on this.

There can be many reasons why there is water in the boot. I had that problem as well and found this thread: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-un...cs-fix-465581/
I followed the advice that is to say sealing the boot/trunk vent. It's a bumper off job, so I got a local car body repair shop to do it for me, for only £ 50. That was in August, and after every heavy rain I lift the boot liner. Still dry...

Thanks for the advice and links guys. For now the car is in the garage with the boot trim removed. Sounds like a biggish job whatever so I'll save it for when I have a weekend free!

Cheers again.

OP, I had issues with a leak in my boot when I bought my car early this year. Take your time, leave the boot liner out. I found the best thing to do was to get some high sudsing car wash or snow foam, and liberally apply all over the read end of the car. The foam doesn't drip quite so far and you can see the leak more visibly.

My issue was a tiny hole in the rubber seal going around the boot - water was running down under the plastic cover to the right of the boot, to the small hole in the seal and then down into the boot. Ton of mastic later - dry boot! I've got a link somewhere in my car thread.

Here you go, found the picture. If you open the boot and look at it from the engine end of the car, the image will make sense.

Here's another idea, which I did. I happen to have a Sony digital camera with wifi. There is an app Sony play memories, so you can see what's happening in the camera on your Iphone/Android, including 4k video. Set it all up, put the camera in the boot, hose down the rear end and watch what's happening on your device.
