It's funny about the washer switch. One of the daft rumours on the US side about the 2002MY was what the blanked off switch by the gear leaver was for.... Some very wacky theories, before it was pointed out that it was for a washer switch, and that they didn't really didn't want one as it's pointless.

They wereeven more confused over the fog light switch space... since it's near the steering wheel it's obviously some critical secret driving button right?
