Default Wayward Handling

Hi, hoping somebody has an answer to my handling problem

Under acceleration the car pulls quite heavily to the left which you have to correct by steering to the right, however, when you depress the clutch to change gear it immediately steers straight again then back up with the clutch accelerate and we are back to pulling to the left.

Under constant speed the car will go straight but as soon as you are under load off it goes left so in effect you are cork screwing up the road when moving up through the gears

I have just had all the shocks replaced by Tom @ TGM and the geo checked etc, Tom has told me that the geo is nearly all very slightly out but as most of the adjusters are seized it was not worth cutting and replacing as it would not correct the problem.

Tom suggested changing the rear tyres as although not worn (Conti's) they do not match the nearly new Bridgestones on the front.

My question is could this be a differential problem, in that it is not evenly distributing the power to both rear wheels.

The pulling to the left manifested itself quite slowly over the past 3-4 months and it is now getting so bad I don't want to drive the car

Any suggestions, ideas or in fact the answer would be much appreciated

Normally a siezed brake caliper.

Check if any one wheel is hot after driving it. Probably the left rear.

both n/s calipers have been replaced
If it were a caliper then it would pull to the left all the time.
It is only on acceleration

Last time I had a siezed rear, it wasn't too bad on acceleration, it was letting off the throttle it would dart to one side.

I'd double check one wheel isnt abnormally hot.

If not it sounds like a dynamic toe sort of issue.

It seems like you have covered most things in light of this I would agree with Tom and be checking the tyres, quick cheap check is to swap the tyres side to side, it doesn't matter if they are directional as it's just to check if the pulling stops or transfers to the other side, it could be the fronts as well and it's more common than you think

Mine did this with Oem 16" wheels with miss match rear tyres, since changing to oem 17" wheels with 2x brand new michelin pilot sport 3s, the car drives much better!

I've had this, it was the tyres. Not the pressures but differences between the rears.
Are they both of equal wear? Are they made in the same manufacturing plant? Were they replaced at the same time?
