Mobil 1 fully synth 5 winter 30 in my engine at the mo. Would have used 10/40 like the book recomends but the only 10/40 Halfords had was their own brand stuff. Didnt fancy its chances tbh.

Oil is supposed to get dirty, it means the dirt is going into the oil and not staying in the engine. Motul 300V is a race oil where engine cleanliness isn't the top of it's priorities, obviously a nice smelling oil is important though.
Honda UK recommend a 5W-40 C3 oil.

What I'm trying to say is that the oil is in great shape when it gets replaced.
As far as 300V being race oil, every review I've read suggests this oil works very well in road cars also. There are a couple of different variations on the 300V theme, 300V Power sits in the middle - suitable for road/track use.
And of course the great smell!!

Shell Helix 5/40 , cos it's free .
Just been and checked the filter I got from the local Honda dealer last week ( changing the engine oil today ) after finding the right part number from previous post's , and it's the right one
Doe's this mean my local dealer may be good
Or is this a flook

10w40 Magnatec.
Manual says semi-synthetic I seem to remember, which it is, even though in the past with previous S2000s of mine (including the 2.2 litre in Canada) I've tried fully synthetic Edge, RS etc...
Have a tried anumber of different grades and brands, so am now in what I call my "safe place", especially if you believe that 75% of engine wear happens at start up. Even Ralliart were using Magnatec on my previous Evo VI.
If there's a reason for me to try the 5w30 Magnatec fully synthetic, happy to listen.

It will vary a lot.
I only ever use full, but it will be getting track use. Absolutely no problem using semi synth on a road car imo. You will note the manual doesn't specify
