Default What is that little hose entry to the right of the airbox?

Just got my 05 S2000 and there is a little hose connection on the large air hose from the standard aircleaner to the throttle body.

It is just to the right of the airbox and points up and to the drivers side.

Although it is open to the atmosphere and the air hose and there was a spring wire clip on it there was nothing connected and I can,t see what it should be connected to.

Temporarily I have blanked it off but I would really like to know what should be there.

Looking at images of the engine online it seems as if there is a sensor of some sort there (inlet air temperature /)

I'm not following - are you talking about the cam cover breather ? The later Drive by Wire (electric) throttle cars had a temp sensor near there but not the 04/05 years - possibly someone fitted a later pipe to return to OEM-ish before selling ?

Thanks guys.

Ben that makes sense because the dealer, at my insistence, removed the crappy air intake that was on the car and swapped it with a standard one from another car in the showroom.

I guess that was a drive by wire model.

Blanking it off as I have done seems to be the simple answer.
