Anyone know what the long cable, (maybe 2 metres in length and 6-10mm in diameter), that runs from the back of the HU area, along the passenger side of the centre console, through to the rear of the car, is for? (MY02 btw)

My initial thoughts were to power the soft top motor or the aux 12v power outlet but I'm not so sure. Whatever it was connected to isn't there anymore, (car stripped) but I'm intrigued and cannot find it in the Service booklet after much pdf-scrolling. I could do with knowing where the other end is attached to.

Ah yes that could well be it! I forget there was once a 6 disc unit back there.

Multi-core with a DIN plug, IIRC.

I suppose I should have ditched it along with the CD-scratcher.
