What WILL the Hondacare Warranty cover?
Well, following on from my other thread(s), I've had a few conversations with the dealers about the Hondacare Warranty, to be told:-
- It won't cover investigative work;
- It won't cover anything deemed to be 'wear and tear';
- It won't cover anything which is deemed to have been caused by 'abuse'!
...so I'm beginning to wonder why I bothered. FULL in the 'full electrical and mechanical' obviously doesn't quite mean the same thing as me and the Oxford English Dictionary think it means...
...and more to the point, half the stuff they're suggesting (well, everything they're suggesting) could be the cause of my idle/misfire issue wouldn't or possibly wouldn't (read Hondacare have a get-out clause) be covered.
So...has ANYONE bought a Warranty and had opportunity to use it AND it pay out?!?
Cheers,
(A very dischuffed) Martin.

front/Rear dampers
CAT
Driveshafts
siezed front wishbone
Unfortunatley it didnt extend to a new shortblock and head rebuild
It all depends on how friendly you are with your dealer I guess

I had a new engine on the extended warranty.
It will cover investigative work when they find what the problem is and if the problem is covered by the warranty.

I get the impression these guys are either fumbling around in the dark, or are seeing what they can fleece out of the customer en-route to fixing it!

Hondacare/Honda dealers are more slippery than a bucket full of slippery eels - I'd be very surprised if you ever get fair play from one of their warranties. Save your money to pay for the repairs yourself if anything should go wrong - better than paying twice over

Bit late on the advice there...I bought 2 years worth 1 year ago...was starting to think about extending it next year before it hits 5 years as looks like we'll be keeping the car for a while longer, but I guess that depends on what happens here...
...don't suppose it covers the alarm system, does it?!? That's electrical!

Good luck to you then - but I'll be surprised if you get any joy out of it (and not being insurance there's nobody independent you can complain to when your claim is turned down - I'm amazed they get away with it in this regulated age).

When you take the cost of Honda parts and labour carges it wouldn't take much to have to pay out on a repair that would equal the cost of the guarantee.
Could get the repair done elsewhere I suppose, but aftermarket parts for the S are not in plentiful supply. I just extended mine for 2 years for just over
