Default Wheel colour change - should I?

I need my wheels re-furbed, so I'm going to try a different colour finish. The short list is:

Gloss black.
Matt satin black
Charcoal/anthracite

From this company: http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/...Fcse4QodcAebYg

BUT..... I'm worried that the black finishes will look a bit chavy and the charcoal might look odd because there's not enough of a contrast with Moonrock paint.

Anyone tried similar colours - posting pictures would be appreciated?...........

Nail on the head there with regards to contrast. Moonrock is neither dark nor light, so it's difficult.

Something silly like green or orange is what's required for a contrast. Perhaps one of the half and half finishes might work best? See what The Loon did here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...post&p=20058034

I was thinking exactly the same thing this weekend re my 17's.

They desperately need a refurb and I was thinking satin black although mine is Silverstone.

Thats a pic of my oem 05' alloys done gloss black.

I know its easy to put black wheels on a white car, but i thought it would give you some insight into how they look when gloss black.

Not sure what colour I would go given your situation, white maybe? and live with them being filthy as soon as you start the car after cleaning them?

I want the car to look obviously different to standard, but at the same time, I still want it to look like a 40 year old's car, not a young un's 'ride'. No disrespect to the younger fraternity, you guys can just get away with something more outrageous without everyone taking the mick because you're having a midlife crisis.

I love gloss black, but I'm not sure if I just love them on someone else's car, if you get what I mean..........

On a Moonrock i was buying i was seriously considering painting the wheels in a dark BMW grey.

Similar to this:

Wheel + darker OEM HONDA badges will make the car look perfect.

Good luck!
