Wheels + Spacers = not enough centre bore length
I need some advice, i got some new wheels and 5mm spacers so they clear these 4 pots of mine.
The problem i have is with the 5mm spacers i have no center bore material left for the wheel to locate onto, this worries me a bit but i keep reading conflicting info about this online as to whether its safe or not...
What are your thoughts on this, do you need this centre bore to support the wheel or just rely on the studs? i track my car whenever i can.

I had 10mm non hubcentric spacers on mine and they were fine, the nuts centre the wheels
If you look how flimsy these nylon centre rings are with aftermarket wheels you can see it does nothing more than help you put the wheel on straight before you tighten the nuts up.

I bought some H&R 5mm spacers and from the pictures i thought that they would provide a lip like my 10mm bolt on spacers but they dont, they are just flat so the wheel cannot locate onto anything in the center meaning only the studs are supporting the load.
To me this sounds a little unsafe?

i would be more worried about the amount of turns you will have on the lug nuts, i was going to install a big brake kit modified from another car and i would of had to use a spacer, if that was the case i did buy some extended studs just to make sure ( i know its a new wheel bearing jobby as well) but thats just me

That's a good point, I wouldn't put more than 3mm on the standard studs
You can get spacers with its own studs from 10mm onwards, do need openings in the back of the wheel for the original studs to go though
