Default Why can't I get my alignment correct?

I took my car to get it's alignment sorted today and this is how it came back.

To get anywhere near on the caster they had to increase the camber significantly.

I was wanting it setting to UK Optimised settings that were taken from the FAQ, the car is lowered on Eibach springs by about 20-30mm all the bushes have been replaced with poly ones and the castor bushes replaced with Mugen units.

The car felt okay on the way home if a little bit twitchy at high speed but this was balanced by a positive feeling in the corners, now this is my road car so I don't often drive it fast but would like to understand why I can't get near the settings I wanted and what effect my current settings will have on the handling?

The same problem as i have, too low castor on the left side.

Its really frustrating

I suspect that you subframe may need re aligning. Slacken the subframe and try to pull the passenger side forward.

Could be - mine just pisses them about, by being spot-on until they torque the bolts & then it moves back again!

Okay that makes me feel better in the fact that I am not alone

Car seems to handle okay though and I'll openly admit that I know very little about alignment and how it has an effect on the handling. I'm reluctant to touch anything now as next time I go back I will have to pay. Plus the guy who did it was properly unhappy to be working on my car for some reason. Maybe I need to go somewhere else that will welcome my custom...

Good spot, I've had all the suspension and subframes off, shotblasted, checked and epoxy coated though and I would have thought if something was bent I would have noticed it. Could it be that the subframe is sat slightly too far in one direction?

Still going to have a look around this next week and see if there is anything obvious, maybe invest in some subframe collars and when I say invest I mean make a set.

Yep as Raz said could be a subframe out of skew, but it would be have to be a long way out and the o/s would be high a reading, and it shouldn't effect the sai, subframe collars remove the ability to fine tune setback, stab in the dark are the cams on the castor adjuster in line and not 180 out as i have seen this umpteen times and you are unable to adjust the castor,,i came across one a few weeks ago the same as yours- very low castor and nothing looked out of place it, i even removed the gear and rest it again so defo something a miss so the guy is getting another hub and lower arm and we are going to replace one at a time to see which corrects it.

Do you know the history of the parts you had shot blasted?

My subframe was bent. I replaced it.
