Why are Hamilton Palmer so S**T?
The car failed to start again on Monday, had to get a flatbed again, turns out it's a "fried circuit board under the seat" according to the dealer and has to be posted to Hamilton palmer, that's why I have had so many problems!
I was wondering if the people on here who had them repaired / replaced had any subsequent problems? If they can fix it properly I might just be persuaded to keep the damn thing!

Mine's acting up, need to get it fixed and quick.
My advice...if you're not under warranty get it replaced with something better. Be a little more money, but compared to doing the same thing in a year or two...

H&P retrofitted the alarm/immobilisers to all pre MY04 cars on behalf of Honda UK. The failure rate of their boards has been high and I believe most dealers are well aware of the situation.
Mine went in 2005 and it was replaced under warranty by the dealer. It was turned around the same day and never left the dealer's as far as I know ...

Warrington Honda are sending mine to Hamilton Palmer in the post on Monday for them to "fix it", the dealer is well aware of the problems though, and after the 5 times it has let me down in the 10 months of ownership under Hondacare I won't be paying for it.
I will make sure of it!

Why fix it - why not replace it? Surely quicker and can't be that different in price???

Yep dont repair or replace with the same kit.
Get a new alarm immobiliser for 140 extra. Peace of mind. Better product. Add something more to the car probably reflected when you sell.

Had mine replaced out of warranty 4 months ago. Thing didn't work correctly from the first time I used it. Finally resulted in the car being permantly immobilised and had to tow it to Honda. Was in the garage last week so should find out today what's wrong with it.
Is it possible to "plug in" a new alarm e.g. toad into the existing wiring system or will the car need rewired?
