Winter refresh, Engine, Seats harness etc ready for next season

No that's an urban myth, the engine has to be below 38dec as per the Honda workshop manual, depending on what country you are in would have a bearing on what stone cold is so if someone in Florida or Spain in the middle of summer has to set the tappets then stone cold wouldn't mean much hence the threshold being 38dec, i have checked and anything from there down to 10dec has no bearing on gap

i have a load of parts waiting to put on mine so have held off on this.. to date .. if i got to yours early it would cool down enough in an hour or two you reckon?

Nottm_S2, I've got the bent / offset feeler gauges required for the job plus the valve adjustment tool etc and have done mine a couple of times now, so if it's not feasible to take to Congleton and get it looked at I can always drop by and give you a hand / tooling given I'm in the area.

Old and new uprated retainers

Oil squirter bolts, most on here will know the upgrade, it seems mine was missed as it still had the 2 hole bolts so a new set of 4 hole bolts will be going in when i get around to rebuilding it,

Piston ring check today,
First up top ring, wear limit is 0.60mm this came in at 0.43
second ring, wear limit is 0.90mm this came in at 0.84
oil control ring, wear limit is 0.80mm this came in at 0.92
so as in the other 3 engines i stripped to build the one for my other s the compression rings are in spec and the scrapper rings and outside spec so the engine would have had good compression but burn rather a lot of oil, a new set of piston rings is sat on the bench waiting to be fitted ,

love the attention to detail Ray. when you swap rings does it need running in before you go off racing with it?
