Cylinder head, this probably consumes more labour than anything else, first off is to strip out all the valves then check for level and damage after this the combustion chambers and valves need decoking and cleaning, engines don't suffer the same as they did years back but it's important to remove all trace's as the coke deposits retain heat and cause hot spots especially around the exhaust valve area this can cause pre-ignition and cause problems for your tuner, after this the head surface needs cleaning down with a flat block and wet fine rubbing paper, then comes the laborious task of hand lapping in all the valves to get a nice grey ring around the valve face and seat and all pits and marks have being removed to create the best seal possible,
