If you have an accident you're insurance company will probably not pay out as they will deem the imbalance of tyres was to blame.

Me.
I stuck some Hankook Wintercept evos on. As with the Kuhmos in this thread, feels like I'm driving a bouncey castle. 34psi helped remove a bit of the sponge feel but generally horrible.
They've been good through the standing water and no complaints on the ice (what little we've had of it), but at any kind of speed they feel really wobbly. Debating about when to put my Summers back on (Eagle F1s). Sods law the minute I do that it will start snowing.

I only stuck mine on last week, mainly because my summer tyres are getting close to the wear markers so are shite in the wet.
Not as shite as the tyres on the missus MX5 in the wet although that does make it hilarious as opposed to terrifying in the S.

What people forget is winter tyres should be named cold weather tyres
Summer tyres are crap under 7* and good winter tyres work ok above 7*

I have the Kumho's...all round.
You are not going to get summer tyre performance out of a cold weather tyre. That is pretty obvious, they are opposite ends of the spectrum. If you realise that, don't drive like a dick and enjoy overtaking a Range Rover thats stuck in dusting of snow then winter/cold weather tyres are amazing.
They are a bit like putting wet tyres on a F1 car in on a dry track in Bahrain. The car will still drive, but it is going to be much slower and have less performance than on slicks.
I don't like them when pressing on, but I do when the weather is shite.
For the record, Front 34psi, Rear 36psi.

I find it less scary I admit but it's vague, wandery (made a word!) and squidgy with em on
In snow they're ace but I don't use the car when it's wet atm

Yeh of course, you want a squidgy side wall when you are deep in snow as it increases surface area when you reduce pressure.
You can combat it a little when it is not snowy by increasing pressure, but not to the point where the tyre is /\...
