Default OEM coilover suspension

Having a bit of a clear out in the garage, so got a few bits and pieces that might be of use to someone

Standard coilovers removed from and '04 facelift car. Probably done around 100k. No issues at time of removal I - like so many - just wanted some adjustabilty so these are now surplus to requirememts.

£100, collection from West Sussex

Forgive my curiosity, but I have a query regarding the shock on the far right of your shot. The rubber block visible on that Spring, has that always been fitted to that spring?

it's a good question! I only noticed it myself when posting the photo on here. I certainly didn't fit said block, so it must be a leftover from a previous owner if it's not a standard thing. I've not checked to see if there is one on the other side...

It's part of what is known as a Spring Spacer. These were fitted by Honda to the springs of the car before they were shipped so minimising the risk of damage from suspension movement on a boat or transporter. Dealers were meant to remove these before delivery to a customer. If these were still on your car theres little wonder new coilovers have given a dramatic improvement!!

Haha well I never! The car was 10 years old before I got my hands on it.
