I'm Travis, just picked up a 2003 AP1 S2000 last weekend. I have always been a Honda guy, been racing dirt tracks with CRX, Integras, and preludes for over 10 years. When this S2K became available near by I had to pick it up. Going to be a longgg winter, need some nice weather! I'm from Warsaw, IL just north of Quincy. Anyone else from the Quincy area?

Welcome, and congrats on your new toy! I'm envious of you and your glass rear window. It is glass, right? If not, I retract my envy.
I lived in Iowa for a while, and one of my children was born in Fort Madison, which is as close as I've gotten to Quincy.
I knew a few guys who raced FWD cars on dirt tracks. I never understood the fun of it, because I can't stand FWD cars in slippery conditions. It must be fun though, or people wouldn't do it. Do you plan the run the S2000 on dirt?

Yeah its glass, the previous owner installed a brand new Robbins top. My dad actually grew up in Ft. Madison, so i still have quite a bit of family across the river.
No plans to track the S2000 on dirt. Here's one of the preludes i have now.

Welcome, Alicia, and congratulations on your S2000! Will you be DDing it? Is that your only garage stall? Awesome wall art, btw. Do you find that the S2000 and the bike overlap in purpose/sensations?
I happened to notice the plate frame. I remember seeing a handful of new S2000s at Billion in Iowa City, before it was Billion. I can't seem to remember the name of the dealership before it was Billion. What I do remember is the huge smile on the face of a customer as he drove away in his new yellow S2K, and thinking, 'that's what I want'. That was back in 2000 or 2001.

That's a seriously awesome find! I couldn't pass that up, either; mine was a 2000 with 15,800 miles, now with 31,400.
After DDing mine for 1.5 Winters around Chicago, I wholeheartedly recommend what you're doing; saving the S2000 for warm weather. Maybe that's, 'saving the S2000 from cold weather'. The rubber just hates extreme cold. So does the engine. So does the transmission. So does the rear differential. I tried to be hardcore for a year, and I learned a lot in bad weather, but I gave up and garaged mine in January when the extreme cold hit. All of you fair-weather DDers are right.
