Blackhawk Farms Weekend Track Event
Not sure if this ones been brought up or not. MVP is doing a full weekend event at Black Hawk Farms in Rockford, IL.
I'm thinking this might be my first chance at a track day, since I keep missing out.
Info is here:
Black Hawk Farms
Curious to get an idea of who might be planning on attending. Price for the weekend is $310.

Per Harry Cash.....
Blackhawk Farms raceway in Rockton, IL. It is a technical track of 1.95 miles length and 7 turns. The 4-5-6 turn complex is, IMO, the most difficult part of the track and perhaps not the safest part of the track. I would recommend that you have some race track experience under your belt prior to going to Blackhawk unless you are in an instructional program there.
I know the track is under new ownership, have any changes been made that would change what Harry said?

Thank goodness I have a Corvette then.
3-4-5 is still a little hairy as there is very little room between the edge of the track and some armco barrier. I was also taking 7 pretty slowly JUST to be safe.
It's a fun track, I kept pushing 3 further and further, and I don't think I ever found the limit of the car. I am pretty sure that is where I hit over 1G lateral. Coming off of 5 was also exciting and fun.
A mature novice student, who appreciates WHERE to push the limit, and where to back off can do well at Blackhawk, but it isn't as "foolproof" as Gingerman.
I am strongly considering the event. It should be a LOT of fun.

So, in order to get it or out, the track may not be in use for any reason for them to open the gate for the entrance road.
There are lots of shady areas to spectate. Turns 1, 3, 4, and 5 are an easy walk and give a good view of what's happening on the track if you want to observe there.

This is also the Dragon Ball Run weekend. I might have to reconsider that long a$$ drive.
I'm really contemplating this one, I may have to ask Harry for some special attention!

but alas it's still a drive for me.
Jackson MI to Beloit WI 300 miles x 2 (plus no chance of tickets)
You better sign up quick before all of those beginner spots are long gone.
I think I will do the same
