Detroit peeps! Friday Night Meets Kickoff 4/8
 

I extend to you all a personal invite to start the Friday Night Meets off the right way in 2005. If you have never been there, it is off 11 mile and Inkster Rd (Southfield) right behind my teammate's 7-11. Its literally a mile west of Telegraph. Meets usually start around 8:30 - ? All we ask is that everyone act responsibly and if you have some trash, there are dumpsters to throw it in. We have had the cops come out and hang out with us which is cool. Whats not cool is when idiots decide to do hole shots and burn outs in the lot (yea with people around = real smart), then we get kicked out. So don't be that guy.
All are welcome as long as your ride is unique.

Redline Motorsport with the help of Xceedspeed is proud to announce the 2005 season kickoff of the "Friday Night Meets". Starting this Friday April 8 at dusk, all sport compact and automotive enthusiasts will continue to have a safe haven to come, park and hang out. With the cooperation of the Farmington and Southfield Police Departments, the event will be a weekly meet open to all those who behave themselves.
There is enough room in the newly paved parking lot to park at least 250 cars, and there is a 7-11 on the corner for non-alcoholic drinks and snacks.
Rules are as follows:
1. No drugs and alcohol.
2. Reckless driving or speeding to and from as well as in the parking lot will not be allowed. There are police cruisers usually hanging out in the wings just waiting to nab ya.
3. Burnouts are not allowed. Duh.
4. Engine revving is not allowed. Please dont wake up the neighbors.
5. Loud audio is not allowed. -There are homes just on the other side of Inkster road.
6. Littering is not allowed-Pick up your garbage.
-Thats pretty much it. If anyone is seen not conforming to these limited rules, they will be escorted off the property and will not be allowed to return. Everyone keeps an eye out and takes down plate #'s for the Police, so please dont ruin it again for the rest of us.

General info for weather: If it is 30degrees or colder or 30% change of rain, the meet will be called off.

Now with all that out of the way, come on out. It usually goes until 11:00 or later and most people group up and go out for dinner afterwards.

Damn, I'm out of town until the 9th. What kind of cars are there?

Everything from potent Hondas, tuned/riced Cavaliers, Neons, Bagged Mini Trucks, Vintage Porsches, Asian exotics, once in a while a Mercialago, 355 Modna and the likes...and a BUTT load of everything else 4 and 6 cyll.

So this is every Friday eh? Maybe I'll have to make a trip over there. Are there a lot of us S2000 owners?

I have work on the 8th as well but I will be there on the 15th!
For all who have never been, this meet is great. A lot of quality cars, it is a good time.
Looks like most of us won't be able to make the 8th but will be there the 15th.

There was a handful of S2K'rs that showed up throughout last year and hopefully had a good time.

Yes, it will return as a weekly thing, but the 8th is the BIG kickoff with members from Redline Motorsport, Xceedspeed, Active Perf, ClubSi, S2ki and every other group/organization in the area.
If it is dry and kinda warm, I would expect 150+ to show up for the first meet.

Plus, I get to show off my new rims! (rymes with Kinesis)

is this basically the same crowd that used to meet at Murrays on Woodward, and then Star Southfield??? How come there are no strictly S2K meets anywhere around here???

sorry to interrupt...but i wish we had meets every week over here in Illinois :(
