GLD results tonight
Ran at GLD tonight, but didn't do well at all. I had a hard time hooking up, and could not get my launches down. At first I was runnin 2.2 60' times. This is ok, but on my better runs I'm 2.0-2.1. It showed in my ET that I wasn't hooking well.
60' = 2.226 1/4 mile = 13.827@102.09 I have video of this next run. And in fact the cadillac running next to me snapped his half-shaft on launching. lol. You can hear the big CRACK just after we launch. My time for this was 60' = 2.228 1/4 mile = 13.808@101.87 right click, save as After the caddy broke, there was crap all over the track. They cleaned it up, and it was an hour before I got to run again. Unfortunately this let my Kumho MX's cool down, and they do NOT do well cold. PLUS it got quite a bit colder by this time as well, so my 60' times went to SHIT. I was getting 2.4's. eww. Anyways, another guy in an S2k was there and wanted to run me. He knew I had gears but wanted to run anyways. I said that's fine even though I couldn't hook up. Here's the video, but the best part is this. You can hear his friends talking in the background saying "tom's got him, tom's got him!" (I'm not Tom). They keep talking and then the ET's go up. Me 13.997@101.05 Him 14.077@100.43 lol. This is the interesting part. My 60' time for that run was a whopping 2.372. HIS 60' time was great at 2.170. For those that don't know .2 seconds in 60' is a LOT. I'd say he had a good 2-3 cars on me on the launch alone. My gears simply wound him in the rest of the way, and I had passed him by the 1000' mark. Video here: right click, save as I'm gonna go back again once it gets warmer. I also did not have a tire pressure gauge, so I was running about 32psi in the back tires. (normally I run about 22-24) That makes quite a difference in the launch as well. Ah well, crappy night, but that's expected as I get used to the new gears and launching. :) Lastly, here's a video of a jet dragster. This thing is a beast. right click, save as |
nice runs if you had better tires your 60's would of been better. I like the one where your lining up with Tommys car and the guy in the video is all like Tommy got him but you pulled it off COOL

Yeah, I think had the tire pressure not been 32psi, I'd have launched better. When I had my potenza S02's at full pressure, I could never do better than 2.24 60'. Dropped them to 22-24psi or so, and I was bangin out 2.0 and 2.1 60' times.

Good runs man, but not 13.0-13.3... go next time when it's warmer and get some timeslips
|
lol no no 13.3 this time.
if i had to estimate, based upon my time of 13.8 with a 2.22 60' and my trapping over 102, i'd think 13.4 is within the realm on a great racing day. :) But I did pull 3 cars on that other S2k when all was said and done. ;) I made up the 2 cars he put on me from the launch, and I was almost another car ahead of him by the finish line. |
yea.....
stupid gears ;) Fun race though  ~T |

Sorry I could not make it as planned. I had an unexpected dinner meeting come up.

You guys have a death wish for your diffs. Go autocrossing, much less harsh on the car, and a ton more fun. Seriously.
