Mark, are S2000's ok to run at Mid Ohio without any sort of rollbar?

If i remember correctly they say that ALL convertibles have to have a rollbar, even though they have S2000's that they run there all the time with no rollbar.

Thanks,
Palmer

I'm still waiting for clarification from Mid Ohio about the S2000 and Boxster, BUT if I were a betting man, I'd say they are going to require roll bars. I'll let you know ASAP!

S2000 - ROLL BAR UPDATE!!!!

We have received clarification from Summit Point, VIR and Mid Ohio that they will require the S2000 to have a roll bar at any track event. We've noted this on the registraiton page of MVP's web site.

Looks like Vivid Racing and Hard Dog(??) may be in for some more S2000 business. Would anyone be interested if MVP Track Time can set up a discount for roll bars with either of these firms??

I'd say you are going to see more tracks change their policy to necessitate roll bars, so it may be prudent to get the roll bars now, not to mention an added safety feature which one can never have too much of.

Hope to see you guys at the track in 2009. Happy Motoring!

Several tracks in the Midwest still permit the S2000 to run without a roll bar. The hard top is OK with us at tracks that do not require a roll bar. See our registration page for event pricing and the tracks that require a roll bar.

Hi All:

I just got off the phone with Sean McGill of Vivid Racing (www.VividRacing.com) and they will offer a discount on roll bars to anyone who is running or plans to run with MVP Track Time. You can reach Sean at (866) 448-4843.

Hard Dog (http://www.bethania-garage.com/hardbar.htm) is taking $10 off shipping for their roll bars for MVP participants.

Hi all, Im located about 20 minutes from Road America. I know i wasn't allowed to take my Z3 there or black hawk. Just wondering if my S2000 would be allowed any where with out the rollbar. Along with that, i was wondering if you got 2 be 18 to sign a waiver for your car and life???

Not sure about Road America, but at our (www.MVPTrackTime.com) Blackhawk Farms track weekend you are OK with the S2000. I seriously suggest installing a roll bar for safety sake.
