Racing school in Chicago area?
 

Just moved to chicago and was wondering if there are any racing/performance driving classes around here that I could take.

Also, anyone know of some winter driving classes? I've never driven in the snow before (moved from California) and wouldn't mind taking a class just to get a better idea.

Unfortunately, the "season" has pretty much ended for the year. :cry: Check out this site for a listing of events around Chicago.

As for winter driving classes, I don't know of any. I hope you're not considering driving your S2000 in the winter without winter tires. Winter + S2000 + summer tires = :yikes:

The best way to learn how to drive in the snow is to find a empty parking lot and experiment with the car. It's been awhile since I've driven rear wheel drive, so the first snow fall I plan to take a refresher course so to speak.

Talk to hecash...he runs high performance driving education events (HPDE's).

I think that he's done this year, but starting next year, he's going full tilt. Other venues are SpeedTrialsUSA events and Skip Barber events.

Road America has a lot of stuff (skip barber) and is about 2-2.5 hours from downtown chitown
