Default UDW! (Upper Mid-West Dragon Weekend)

Greetings all

As a good number of the UMW crew was unable to make this year's Wake the Dragon event in late-April a suggestion was made to have a UMW-sponsored weekend at the Dragon sometime later in the summer. After speaking with a few people we've narrowed the time frame down to the end of July/early August. The choices are:

--leaving Thursday, July 23 and returning Sunday, July 26
--leaving Thursday, July 30 and returning Sunday, August 2

I'd love to hear some feedback from those of you who are serious about attending this meet-- let me know how the date ranges above sit with your schedules and we'll make a final decision before the end of June so as to leave enough time to plan properly.

Feel free to PM any questions you have about the event to any of the CO's, let's try to keep this thread for planning purposes only.

Cheers!
Charlie

I cast my vote for:

--leaving Thursday, July 30 and returning Sunday, August 2

My boss is taking a vacation that weekend, so it works perfectly for me. I will do everything in my power to attend this.

Just an FYI - July 25 and 26 is Western Michigan Honda Meet and August 1 is the D1 (drift) Grand Prix at Soldier field. Thought I would mention it so people can make an informed decision.

I also want to add that if I come (and I see very few obstacles in my way), the Mini's copious storage space will certainly be available if people have additional or large items that won't fit in their S2000s. I would likely only have a small duffel bag and my few usual automotive items that go with me everywhere, so space would be abound for chairs / coolers / etc.

Yeah...it's not. It was apparent that August was very full with lots of weekend dates scheduled, and we needed more than two months to get something off the ground.

We decided that for this year, we'd be better off just waiting for the national Fall Dragon event.

The Fall Dragon event? If I can get two or three days off and the wife let's me go, I may be in.

This Summer just seems to be wizzing by...I haven't really gotten to do much

My summer dragon weekend will likely end up consisting of watching the whole Lord of the Rings trilogy (extended edition, of course), followed up by driving Lower Wacker back and forth 7 times.
