chevron 94 for me, i'll have to try a tank of 91 to compare, currently gettting 400kms/tank with intake, header, exhaust, reflashed

^I think I get roughly the same with Chevron 91

I stick w/ 94 from Chevron because that's the only grade with no ethanol!

I use 94 same reason no ethanol! Don't know if it's true but I heard Chevron has the more ethanol in their gas than any other brand? It is still less than 10%

I would assume that they have to really take into account the specific properties of the fuel type when developing the compression and ignition timing of the engine. With that said, I'd be interested to see if the extra octane in 94 messes with what the car is setup to do; or if 91 is just on the brink of predetonation.

Please check out this thread on accord v6's. You'll completely understand how octane works, after.

The way that is written - you get better gas mileage with 91 than with 94. Is that what you meant? If so - that makes sense.

^wow, that's quite significant and worth paying the additional 3 cents for!

Ronnie's statement says that he goes further with 91 ($$$) than 94 ($$$$). Perhaps he meant the other way around...

If you are running a stock engine computer - 94 will be a waste of money. Butt dynos are not very accurate and you'd need to monitor quite a few tanks of fuel with both 91 and 94 to really see a trend in fuel consumption...

If you've changed/modified your computer - then I can see making the choice to higher octane than Honda recommends. If you haven't - it's snake oil...

Haha yea, you're right Rob, I didn't make a mistake the way I wrote it.

I go further on a tank of 91 :)

I don't really know the science behind the octane, but as far as regular driving, 91 is all you need for a stock s2k.

I put 91 on mine but im thinking of putting 94. Whch is the best gas station to put gas?

Bigbaddie 10-24-2012 05:49 PM

gas is all the same from any gas station.. it's just the additives

PwetNgManok 10-24-2012 06:49 PM

So whos using 94?
