Can someone do the cut OEM hood mod on my S2K?! Will PAY$! :D

Hey guys!

Im looking into doing the cut hood mod on my S2K.... the problem is I have no tools and dont really work on cars... so Im looking for someone who can do the mod for me!

My requirements are that the person has done it before, and can do it PERFECT or very close to perfect.

Willing to pay $250obo or you can take my carbon fiber hood that is a little sun-scortched (needs a good buff and re-clear)... will supply the aluminum grating, and touch-up paint thats needed..... pretty sweet deal I think, considering it only takes like 3 hours to do the mod!!

call Jeff at 604-828-3974

why not just go to a bodyshop and offer to pay them 250?

I'd prefer getting someone who has done it before. Also all the body shops I talk to in the lowermainland charge through the nose and dont seem to know what the hell they are doing when it comes to custom stuff.....

aww I would buy in a second if it was silver.... but to paint it will cost an arm and a leg.

Did you do the mod yourself? want to make some cash for an afternoons work? :D or I can give you my carbon fiber hood as payment! it would look awesome with all the other carbon stuff on your sexy s2K!

What hood do you have?

...and it won't cost an arm and a leg to paint it. Lookinco's hood was professionaly done FYI.

I can vouch for Lookinco's hood. I'd say it's worth checking out as i've inspected it up close and it really is a flawless job. I'm not sure how much paint would cost but call around for a rough estimate and it should be worth the little bit extra it may cost in total.

pearl_s2k 08-04-2011 09:41 AM

I think I'd just buy Lookinco's hood. Comes pre-cut and painting it should not be costly. Not sure if this would be a deciding factor, but it's also possibly lighter than the carbon hood (unless its dry carbon).

Well I dont want to spend more then $300 total on the mod. so if i buy the hood for 200-400 then get it painted for 300-500 that just doesnt make sense for me.

appreciate the offer though! like I said if I had a GPW s2k I would totally be interested! :D

out of curiosity where did you get it done professionally, and how much did it cost ya?

I'd rather just buy Clement's and then repaint it. Definitely better to cut then have it repainted.

nobody can do this mod??? so disappointing! ohh well I guess ill just get my CF hood refinished

kfdon 08-11-2011 09:21 AM

you pay for what you get. you wanna give someone some change and expect a PERFECT or very close to perfect job.
it would be hard for someone to come up and volunteer for it.

Just a word of caution, refinishing your carbon hood might be costly unless you're willing to accept an imperfect job (i.e. tons of pinholes all over the place). I've got some carbon pieces on my car, and they were SUCH a hassle to clearcoat properly.
