Hazy headlights?
 

Lately I had noticed that the headlights on my AP2 were starting to look a little hazy. I went to CT and picked up some Meguiar's PlastX to try on them.

I applied a liberal coating of the stuff onto the headlights, used some serious elbow grease with a soft cloth, and then wiped clean with a new cloth. I can't believe it, they look almost new! All the haze is gone, and this also removed some scratches I thought were permanent!

What if it's inside the headlight?

If it's on the inside, this product will not work, unless you take apart your headlight and work on it from the inside.

I have heard people saying that stay away from these products because what it does is removing the haze and scratches by thinning the plastic layer (almost like sanding it down). Thus your plastic lamp cover is thinner than before which may weaken the plastic and lead to crack in the future if hit by small rocks.

In essence, anytime you "polish" your car, the same thing is happening with your paint. I think it's okay to do this once in a while, but it's not something that you should do everyweek. :p

Sounds about right. That's what polishing does.
