Default Price check on a 2003 S2000 please

Hi there,

I'm trying to figure out a fair price for an S2000 that I'm looking at. Here are the specs:

2003 S2000
Suzuka Blue Exterior on Suzuka Blue leather interior
68,000 KMs
2 owner car. Current owner bought the car in 2004 from a Honda Dealer and it had 28,000km on it when he bought it. He has the bill of sale from when he bought it along with all receipts for oil changes
no accidents
car body is clean with a couple of door dings and really light scratches that would buff out. Right hand fender S2000 badge is missing
Seats have no visible fading or leather wear/tear. Interior seems quite dusty and dull. Probably needs a good cleaning and detail as the car is always parked in owners garage with the top down
Top has no rips or tears
Front hood has a few rock chips
front windshield has a few rock chips that might be able to be fixed or windshield may need to get replaced
tires are 10 years old, so probably need to be replaced

Asking price is $17,000 CAD. He said he would take $16,500.

Do you think $16,500 is a fair price or should I try to negotiate a bit harder.

Thanks for any input.

Hmmm, sounds like the car has been a little neglected (old tires, dusty). How frequently were the oil changes done?

At the risk of rustling some jimmies, that colour usually has a discount (for whatever reason, it's just not a favorite). And regardless, $16,500 is a lot for an AP1. I'd walk (for now). I can almost guarantee that car will still be around by the end of the summer.

An ap1 will max go for 16-17, as mentioned above Suzuka blue is at least 1-2k less, as it is a much less desire able color on average.

Personally I wouldn't pay more than $13-14k for that car, but that's just my opinion. To can find lowinh mileage ap2s in more popular colors for $17-19k

My ap1 was $10,300 with 145,000kms. I've seen several over the years in that range

I would run a carproof on it and see what's up just to be safe but it sounds alright, pics would be nice but for the year and mileage the price is on point. I paid $16.5k for my 2003 about 2-3 years ago with 70ish thousand km on the odometer at the time, but mine is GPW and had a few mods as well/good history, alongside I bought it out of season.

The price is not that bad considering the low mileage. The price for S2000s has stabilized and in fact, I noticed that it's been creeping u a little as well. That being said, of course try to negotiate for a lower price! Good tires are going to cost a few hundred (don't cheap out here). Also, get the vehicle inspected. The F20C does have weak retainers (google this!).

Sounds like an average price coming from a dealer, I think the only thing about that car that permits that kind of price is the mileage... if it's been neglected at least that's not hard to fix. I got mine for $12000 off CL and in almost identical condition but with 146k kms on the odo. I'd wouldn't pay over 16k for that though after passing inspection and history check .

Jeez, Alex, now I'm paranoid of my valve retainers! I better check if mine's been previously replaced...

GL!

wow, is that a really polite way of saying that suzuka is one of the least desirable colours?

^ That was the most polite and roundabout way I could think to put it.

Now whenever I take a drive I'll have to be on the lookout for vengeful Suzuka owners.

Nah!
We Suzuka owners like being in our very exclusive club ... not vengeful, just feeling sorry for the other colors.
