S2000 Corrosion Protection
I suspect this question has been asked before, but we Canadians are sensitive to the topic of corrosion protection in our cars ... did Honda have this in mind when they built S2000s?
Lately we've had some reasonable top-down weather (S2Ks have good heaters!) but I've noticed salt on the roads already, mostly against overnight frost. I'd like to take advantage of sunny days even in chilly weather, but the thought of salt 'dust' getting into the underbody bothers me. A good underside pressure wash can get rid of most of it, but I'm concerned about salt collecting in hidden crevices (and inside the doors) that the washer can't easily get at.
Anyone have thoughts about this? Has anyone actually seen a rusted-out S2000?

I've been driving my '07 since '07, so far so good. Just be wary of the rubber gaurds on the rear fender. It holds a shit ton of dirt & salt in there; for this reason, I've had mine out since 2010.

I've been searching this Forum and others for related postings, and found lots of conflicting information about things like corrosion protection products (most, but not all, are useless ripoffs!). Is yours a DD even on winter salty roads?

Yep, I put my snowtires on last weekend.

Look up "Fluid Film" works great for corrosion protection. No one does this around here in any shops but back east a lot of people do this. One note, do not use aerosol can!!! since the accelerant used makes it flammable, not sure for how long? You can buy it as a kit with proper spray wand to use with a compressor. Look it up on their website.

I just got back from a couple of days' driving (top down!) around Vancouver Island, visiting friends on Gabriola, and noticed something interesting ... many Island roads had obviously been salted recently, with many spots having a lot of salt dust flying around, but here in the lower mainland it seems most regions have switched to spraying a preventive ice melting liquid on the streets. I don't know if it's a sodium chloride or a calcium chloride solution, but it seems to work quite well and raises a lot less corrosive dust when the roads are dry.
My 2K is parked in an unheated carport so these days residual salt doesn't get warm enough to do damage in the short term, but I'll give the underside a good spray when things warm up a bit.
And this is interesting, something I didn't know ...
